Does God Really Not Want Us Happy?

I’ve seen this post more than once and each time it gives me the “Eh-Feeling” in my GUT. Part of it just hits wrong. Thought we’d talk about it, shall we? (I’d love nothing more than your thoughts as well…Please leave me a comment if you feel moved to do so)!

As a Christian of 37 years, I absolutely believe that when a life is fully surrendered to God, there WILL BE FRUIT and GLORIFYING GOD. It’s a natural by-product of being sold out to the Creator of the Universe. When His Glorious blood flows throughout our veins and His Love has captured our hearts, every place we go we will shine His light touching the many who are around us!

On the flip side, I absolutely unequivocally believe that our Creator not only wants us HAPPY, He fills us with JOY in serving Him and Nehemiah 8:10 says it BEST: The JOY of the LORD is Our STRENGTH! If our Joy gets ripped off, and it’s hard not to have that happen from time to time with the many trials we face in this life, we’d darned sure better connect with our Savior to get it filled back up or our strength is gonna fail. We CAN’T do life without it. (At least not victoriously)…

As quoted above, “Faith in Jesus isn’t always Sunshine & Happiness. It’s hard work and dedication to Him, not us.” Really Sherlock? (Sorry to be crass, but dang…the ONLY Christians that might not know that are the newly born again)! If you’ve been a Christian for ANY LENGTH of time, that’s a GIVEN. I have many years under my belt, and I’ve been through more trials than Thomas Edison had with his light bulb invention.

Here’s what I’ve come to…there’s a whole lot of “Religiosity on this post.” For those of you that may not know what that is, study the life of the PHARISEES in the Gospels if you dare to tread those murky waters! RELIGIOSITY is IN YOUR FACE, POINTS FINGERS and GIVES OFF AN ERROR OF I’M BETTER THAN YOU, a classic HOLIER THAN THOU attitude. It snuffs the life right out of us. RELIGIOSITY makes us continually feel WE ARE NEVER ENOUGH AND ARE ALWAYS MISSING THE DAMN BOAT NO MATTER WHAT WE DO! Nothing will snuff the life out of you more quickly than this half baked theology!

Here’s the thing. I’ve been there, done that and wore the t-shirt hundreds of times. When I got set free from that nastiness, I determined I would never, and I mean NEVER,… go back to those ugly clutches of the devils own hands.

HAPPINESS IS TYPICALLY CIRCUMSTANTIAL. JOY IS EVER LASTING. Let me tell you a secret. God led me to open my Shopify Store, Carole Dianne Designs, in 2020 at the start of COVID. There is not a single doubt in my mind that the JOY OF CREATING my product, sharing and selling it to my countless friends, has instilled an unmatched HAPPINESS & JOY in me. It’s kept me focused on HAPPY and not all of the FEAR being thrown at us, through the pandemic. So I beg to differ that God doesn’t want us Happy and/or Joy-filled! The two are synonymous, even if the reasoning behind them differs.

So, is the “Do What Makes You Happy” really TOXIC to Christians? Is the statement “We are Not Called to Do What Makes Us Happy” really a THING? Because the more I’ve come to know my Savior, I’ve found that HE NOT ONLY WANTS ME HAPPY, HE WANTS ME SO FILLED WITH HIS JOY, EVERY WHERE I GO IT SPILLS OUT ONTO EVERY SINGLE PERSON I MEET! He wants BOTH! AND, if we are doing what we are CALLED TO DO, it will bring us HAPPINESS, JOY and FULFILLMENT!

So peeps, I’m not backing down on this one! Personal experience wins out. I’m not buying it! If you feel you are under the weight of the ugly RELIGIOUS SPIRIT, please feel free to contact me. I do sessions to help people find freedom! TRUST ME, YOU’LL NEVER BE THE SAME ONCE IT’S GONE! AND YOU SURE AS SAM HELL WON’T EVER WANT TO GO BACK UNDER THAT DARKNESS ONCE IT HITS THE ROAD!

    1. Colleen, I’m so grateful you saw the same thing! I knew it couldn’t just be me…Those checks in the spirit from the Holy Spirit don’t just go away. I’ve seen this post at least 3-4 times and it was the same every single time! THANK YOU FOR CONFIRMING SISTER!
